What is the difference between The 20% Letter and Takeover Letter?

The 20% Letter is based on low price to earnings (PE), high dividend-paying bank stocks. We are not specifically targeting takeovers with this strategy.

In Takeover Letter, dividends are not a factor. In fact, since most of them are not paying dividends they tend to have lower returns on assets than most banks. We are using the metrics that a potential buyer will use to specifically target takeover candidates. Shareholder activists also play no role in The 20% Letter but are a huge factor in Takeover Letter. Earnings and dividends are integral to the strategy of The 20% Letter while Takeover Letter is all about asset value and shareholder activists.
