Newsletter Issues: Bret Jensen’s Blue Chip Gems

September 2016 issue: With the Fed complacent to keep rates longer for lower, I have decided to add a stock to the portfolio that directly benefits from the low interest rates of the Fed. We will most likely only see one interest rate this year and then I predict only one again in 2017. That is a perfect situation for this stock to outperform. Click here.

August 2016 issue: For August, we will not be doing a stock recommendation, just a portfolio update and commentary on the state of the market. Our next full issue will be the September issue which will come out at the end of this month. Click here.

July 2016 issue: This month’s portfolio addition has great geographical diversification and financial strength,in a sector that continues to improve. In what I think might be a flat market over the next 12 months, this stock has a solid return scenario. Click here.

June 2016 issue: Deriving over 80% of its revenues from the United States and seeing strong mid-teens earnings growth, this new addition to the portfolio will do well no matter what happens in the rest of the world. And, with a just-authorized $750 million stock buyback initiative and over $1 million of insider buying just in June, management at this company sees compelling value in this stock right now. Click here.

May 2016 issue: This month we take double digit profits from one of our original holdings and pick up what may be considered one of the bluest of blue chip stocks. Click here.

April 2016 issue: With the profit recession all but guaranteed to continue this quarter, investing in stocks that can grow profit and revenue in this market is the top priority when I select stocks to recommend. This month, I am recommending an old friend to the portfolio. The recent decline in the market has once again made the stock a compelling purchase as it is now significantly undervalued. Click here.

March 2016 issue: In this issue we are adding an 800-lb gorilla that dominates its industry and will see solid earnings and dividend growth over the next couple of years.  I expect it to be a long-time holding in the portfolio.

February 2016 issue: The theme of this month’s selection is “Investing in the Strength of the American Consumer.” It is a leading company in its sector that will benefit for years to come on the continued strengthening of the American consumer. Right now this pick is undervalued, growing earnings and revenue, and has strong analyst support much higher than its current share price. Click here.

January 2016 issue: This month we are replacing our holding in Bank of America (NYSE: BAC) with a better suited financial sector heavyweight that will add more safety and income to our portfolio. Click here.

December 2015 issue: My latest recommendation has all of the desired traits of a true ‘Buy and Hold’ stock and I believe that this pick will be a long-term staple in the Blue Chip Gems portfolio. Click here.

November 2015 issue: This month we will be adding a best-in-class company that has been around for over 150 years. It is currently undervalued by the market and has an almost 4% yield along with many other favorable business opportunities that it is capitalizing on. Click here.

October 2015 issue: In this issue I am recommending another large and well-known pharma name that also reported better than expected earnings and raised guidance the same day. Click here.

September 2015 issue: For my latest recommendation, I am sticking with a market leader in the biotech/biopharma sector as investor sentiment seems to be shifting to the negative right now in the sector. With this recent drop in valuation, this stock is a great bargain and investors who pick up shares now will see many years of market-beating returns. Click here.

August 2015 issue: This month we have been given a gift in our portfolio. The ‘Black Monday Flash Crash’ presented me an investment opportunity in a large cap healthcare company that was too attractive to pass up. This month we are adding a diversified and growing health care juggernaut with years of growth ahead. Click here.

July 2015 issue: Although it is getting harder to find relative bargains in what I consider an overbought market, I believe investors should have a good slug of their portfolios in large cap growth positions selling at reasonable or attractive valuations. If/when a correction comes to the market these names should hold up much better than the market as a whole. So with that we’re adding a leading financial stock to the portfolio this month. Click here.

June 2015 issue: Our large cap healthcare positions also are doing well and should continue to do so even if we do get a “flight to safety” sometime this summer. That being said, with few positive catalysts visible until earnings start to come in starting in mid-July it is hard to find good value in the market right at the moment. This month I add another large cap growth name from the healthcare sector. I will also offer up a special supplemental pick at mid-month, hopefully with a lower entry point as I think it is likely the next two weeks the direction of the market will be down. Click here.

May 2015 issue: It is also hard to find much value in a good portion of the market outside of some financials and some other corners of the market. For this reason, we are only adding one new selection to the Blue Chip Gems portfolio this month. Click here.

April 2015 issue: this month we’re looking at an uptick in M&A activity, a slowdown in IPOs, and a strong secondary market and what it all means for us as investors. Plus, we’re adding two top names in the financial and technology sectors, respectively. Click here.

March 2015 issue: February’s market activity demonstrates exactly why it’s important to slowly build a portfolio rather than rushing in. This month we’re adding an 800 lb. gorilla in the drug fulfillment space and the leader in sports related footwear. Click here.

February 2015 issue: We are still finding some reasonable bargains in the large cap growth arena and this month we offer up a “best of breed” refinery play as well as a sold off pharma play that has a great pipeline, attractive valuations and a solid dividend yield. Click here.

January 2015 issue: for the inaugural issue of Blue Chip Gems we’re going to add five stocks to the portfolio that represent a diverse cross section of the market while offering us growth and stability. Click here.
