This is where you’ll find trade alerts exclusively for lifetime members. Tim and Jay will post two new trades for you toward the end of every month.

Trade Alert – Lifetime Members:
Apologies for the delay in getting these out. We should be on a more predictable schedule moving forward. As a perk for lifetime members, each month, we pick our two favorite trade submissions from subscribers and share them with all WIA lifetime members. We may make some minor alterations to the trades, especially as the prices change from the time of submission.
You certainly don’t have to add these trades to your portfolio, but if you have additional capital to deploy and you’re looking for ideas, this is one way to get trade ideas.
In order to show new trades each month, we have decided we won’t be tracking these member trades are part of our portfolio. In other words, you’re on your own in terms of trade management.
That being said, here are the two trade submissions for the month of February. Prices and strikes have been altered somewhat to reflect current pricing:
Overstock.com (OSTK)
The first member trade we picked is in internet retailer, OSTK. The stock has been trending down (which is no surprise given the environment), but also tends to trade in a range. That means it can be a useful covered call stock.
Here’s the trade:
Buy OSTK shares and sell to open the March 24th calls for a net debit of around $ 18.98. See trade details below.

With 30 days to expiration return if unexercised is 3.3%. If the stock closes at $ 22 or above, the return will be 15.4%.
EQT (EQT)
The second member submission we chose is in natural gas production giant, EQT. Natural gas has taken it on the chin in recent months. However, the price has stabilized (in the commodity and in EQT shares) with a rebound possibly on the horizon. The scenario sets up well for EQT to be a solid covered call position.
Here’s the trade:
Buy EQT shares and sell to open the March 24th calls for a net debit of around $ 31.00. See trade details below.

With 30 days to expiration return if unexercised is 2.9%. If the stock closes at $ 34 or above, the return will be 9.4%.

Lifetime Member Trade Alert:
As a perk for lifetime members, each month, we pick our two favorite trade submissions from subscribers and share them with all WIA lifetime members. We may make some minor alterations to the trades, especially as the prices change from the time of submission.
You certainly don’t have to add these trades to your portfolio, but if you have additional capital to deploy and you’re looking for ideas, this is one way to get trade ideas.
In order to show new trades each month, we have decided we won’t be tracking these member trades are part of our portfolio. In other words, you’re on your own in terms of trade management.
That being said, here are the two trade submissions for the month of November. Prices and strikes have been altered somewhat to reflect current pricing:
Enerplus (ERF)
The first member trade we picked is for the oil and gas producer, ERF. It’s been a strong year for energy stocks, but ERF still looks to be on the cheap side. Premiums are reasonable for the near-the-money calls.
Here’s the trade:
Buy ERF shares and sell to open the January 20th 18 calls for a net debit of around $ 16.85. See trade details below.

With 29 days to expiration return if unexercised is 3.5%. If the stock closes at $ 18 or above, the return will be 6.6%.
Asana (ASAN)
The second member submission we chose is a software company, ASAN. The workplace management software company is going to be on the more volatile side of things. However, the stock is already at 52-week lows, so the downside is likely limited. What’s more, the added volatility means very nice premiums can be collected.
Here’s the trade:
Buy ASAN shares and sell to open the January 20th 14 calls for a net debit of around $ 12.24. See trade details below.

With 29 days to expiration return if unexercised is 5.3%. If the stock closes at $ 14 or above, the return will be 13.7%.

Lifetime Member Trades:
As a perk for lifetime members, each month, we pick our two favorite trade submissions from members and share them with all WIA lifetime members.
That being said, here are the two trade submissions for the month of October. Prices and strikes have been altered somewhat to reflect current pricing:
SoFi Technologies (SOFI)
The first member trade we picked is for the digital financial company, SOFI. This is a high volatility stock that comes with some downside risk, but then again, the damage is already done as it’s only a $ 5 stock. The share price is near 52-week lows, but options premiums remain attractive. For those of you who love big premiums and don’t mind some risk, SOFI is a good choice.
Here’s the trade:
Buy SOFI shares and sell to open the December 2nd 5.50 calls for a net debit of around $ 4.82. See trade details below.

With 30 days to expiration return if unexercised is 4.9%. If the stock closes at $ 5.50 or above, the return will be 13.4%.
EnLink Midstream (ENLC)
The second member submission we chose is a midstream oil and gas company. Unlike the previous trade, this is a stock near its 52-week high. The drawback is that it doesn’t have liquid options. We need to go out to December in order to make a trade. The premiums are okay for a stock that doesn’t carry too much downside risk, and the call premium can serve as a reasonable compliment to the dividend.
Here’s the trade:
Buy ENLC shares and sell to open the December 16th 13 calls for a net debit of around $ 11.56. See trade details below.

With 44 days to expiration return if unexercised is 2.2%. If the stock closes at $ 13 or above, the return will be 12.1%.

WIA Lifetime Members,
As a perk for lifetime members, each month, we pick our two favorite trade submissions from members and share them with all WIA lifetime members.
That being said, here are the two trade submissions for the month of September. Prices and strikes have been altered somewhat to reflect current pricing:
Roblox (RBLX)
The first member trade we picked is for the video game company, RBLX. This is a high volatility stock that comes with some downside risk, but also very nice premiums. The company is well off its 52-week highs, but has also recovered somewhat from its lows. For those of you who love big premiums and don’t mind some risk, RBLX fits the bill. The trade only has 3 weeks to expiration
Here’s the trade:
Buy RBLX shares and sell to open the September 30th 50 calls for a net debit of around $ 43.60. See trade details below.

With 22 days to expiration return if unexercised is 3.5%. If the stock closes at $ 50 or above, the return will be 14.2%.
Digital Turbine (APPS)
The second member submission we chose is also a higher volatility software stock. However, APPS has traded around its 52-week lows for a couple months now, so the downside appears limited. The company specializes in digital media for the mobile platform, and you could conceivably make a case that it is undervalued.
Here’s the trade:
Buy APPS shares and sell to open the October 7th 20.50 calls for a net debit of around $ 18.05. See trade details below.

With 29 days to expiration return if unexercised is 4.9%. If the stock closes at $ 20.50 or above, the return will be 12.9%.

Weekly Income Accelerator Lifetime Members,
The new system for WIA Lifetime members allows us to share some of the many great trade ideas submitted by members. Each month, we will be able to pick our two favorite trade submissions from members and share them with all lifetime members. We may make some minor alterations to the trades, especially as the prices change from the time of submission.
We’re going to share two trades each and every month.
That being said, here are the two trade submissions for the month of July. Prices and strikes have been altered somewhat to reflect current pricing:
The Andersons (ANDE)
The first member trade we picked is in food distribution company, ANDE. Although the stock only has monthly options available, it’s otherwise an excellent covered call stock. It’s a solid, undervalued company that still has decent call premiums.
Here’s the trade:
Buy ANDE shares and sell to open the August 19th 35 calls for a net debit of around $ 29.96. See trade details below.

With 39 days to expiration return if unexercised is 2.6%. If the stock closes at $ 35 or above, the return will be 16.5%.
Dutch Bros (BROS)
The second member submission we chose is a covered call on coffee chain, BROS. This is a company we likely wouldn’t recommend in our traditional WIA portfolio because it’s too volatile, and the company may be overvalued. However, it’s an intriguing choice for those who are less risk averse because of the high premiums that can be collected over a shorter than normal trade period.
Here’s the trade:
Buy BROS shares and sell to open the July 29th 37.50 calls for a net debit of around $ 34.30. See trade details below.

With 19 days to expiration return if unexercised is 3.2%. If the stock closes at $ 37.50 or above, the return will be 9.0%.

That being said, here are the two trade submissions for the month of May. Prices and strikes have been altered somewhat to reflect current pricing:
AllianceBernstein (AB)
The first member trade we picked is in AB. While the stock price is a bit higher than what we prefer (in the $ 40s), AB is otherwise an excellent covered call stock. It’s a relatively safe, undervalued company that still has decent call premiums. What’s more, the stock has an 11% dividend yield (but it won’t go ex-dividend during this covered call period).
Here’s the trade:
Buy AB shares and sell to open the July 15th 45 calls for a net debit of around $ 42.20. See trade details below.

With 39 days to expiration return if unexercised is 2.4%. If the stock closes at $ 45 or above, the return will be 6.5%.
Carvana (CVNA)
The second member submission we chose is with CVNA. This is a company we likely wouldn’t recommend in our traditional WIA portfolio because it’s too risky. However, it’s an intriguing choice for those who are less risk averse because of the high premiums and low stock price.
Here’s the trade:
Buy CVNA shares and sell to open the July 8th 29 calls for a net debit of around $ 22.40. See trade details below.

With 32 days to expiration return if unexercised is 10%. If the stock closes at $ 29 or above, the return will be 26.3%.

Here are your two April trades, picked from member submissions. Remember, we won’t add these to the portfolio for tracking purposes, but if you’re looking to put some capital to work, these two energy stocks covered calls are both worth taking a look at.

That being said, here are the two trades for the month of March. Prices and strikes have been altered somewhat to reflect current pricing:
Louisiana-Pacific (LPX)
While LPX is a higher priced stock than most of our choices, I like the building products industry here. There’s a floor on these types of stocks given pent up demand. What’s more, the stock has been range-bound, which makes it a good choice for a covered call.
Here’s the trade:
Buy LPX shares and sell to open the April 14th 67.50 calls for a net debit of around $ 62.95. See trade details below.

With just 20 days to expiration return if unexercised is 1.9%. If the stock closes at $ 67.50 or above, the return will be 7.1%.
SoFi Technologies (SOFI)
SOFI is a bit risky for a covered call stock, but the low stock price means there isn’t much capital at risk either. The stock does appear to have bottomed out. Plus, you can get a short call for very nice premiums.
Here’s the trade:
Buy SOFI shares and sell to open the April 22nd 9.50 calls for a net debit of around $ 8.42. See trade details below.

With 27 days to expiration return if unexercised is 6.2%. If the stock closes at $ 9.50 or above, the return will be 12.0%.

That being said, here are the two trades for the month of February:
1-800-FLOWERS.com (FLWS)
The stock recently got crushed, but now looks like good value. This is a short-term play as the stock just be plenty stable ahead of the biggest flower-buying holiday in the US, Valentine’s Day.
Here’s the trade:
Buy FLWS shares and sell to open the February 18th 16 calls for a net debit of around $ 14.92. See trade details below.

With just 14 days to expiration return if unexercised is 4.2%. If the stock closes at or above, the return will be 5.7%.
KeyCorp (KEY)
This trade is a good example of solid, safe covered call stock. KEY is a regional bank that has seen its stock price steadily move higher. Call premiums are fairly robust and there’s not a lot of downside risk.
Here’s the trade:
Buy KEY shares and sell to open the March 18th 26 calls for a net debit of around $ 25.00. See trade details below.

With 42 days to expiration return if unexercised is 3.5%. If the stock closes at or above, the return will be 4.0%.
January 28, 2022 - 11:11 am
Trade Alert:
Despite the market selloff, BTU has held up reasonably well. Our 13 calls expired for zero last Friday, so we are now in a position to sell more calls. We’re not recommending opening a new buy/write here. This trade is meant for those of you who already own BTU shares. We’re modifying how to we do lifetime-only trades moving forward, so this will be the last one we track on an ongoing basis.
BTU is currently trading at $ 11.10, so we’ll sell the March 18th 12 calls for $ 1.25. March 18th expiration is in 49 days. Return on cash for this leg of the trade is 11.3%. If the stock is called away at $ 12, total return will be 19.4%.
Recommendation: Sell the March 18th 12 calls for a credit of around $ 1.25. Sell 1 call for every 100 shares you own of BTU. There are 49 days until expiration. Anywhere you get filled around this price is fine – just remember to try to get filled at the bid/ask midpoint first before moving your limit price.

December 1, 2021 - 12:52 pm
