Why Trade Options Now?

Virus pandemic aside…

2020 has been a historic year…

A historic year for traders and investors.

First off, we’ve seen record high volatility in the stock market.

Undoubtedly, the social and economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic is driving the volatility.

And, whenever you have a major dislocation in the stock market, the aftereffects tend to be felt for months (or even years).

The other major 2020 theme is the rise of the Robinhood Trader.

Trading has become a ‘fun’ hobby for many people who hadn’t done so before. Many of these new traders use Robinhood, a slick, easy-to-use app for trading stocks and options.

And they’re watching people like this…

Talking heads push back, of course…

“This is a fad. Once people leave their house this will die down.”

I mean, can Robinhood traders really move the market?

Some estimates put mom-and-pop trading activity at 25% of market volume.

I’ve never seen that… except maybe since the tech bubble!

$500 into $1,145,666

With some of my recent trades…and yes, some impeccable timing…you could’ve turned as little as $500 into over $1.1 million. Now, I’m not promising you that…but more to give you a glimpse at what’s possible right now. You can turn that little extra money you have into a lot…fast.

That’s more than enough to make a huge difference in the price of stocks especially the popular companies.

Stocks like Tesla (TSLA) are flying (sometimes climbing 10% or more a day), driven at least partially by the retail crowd.

Despite the terrible cost of the pandemic, the biggest tech stocks in the world, like Apple (AAPL) and Amazon (AMZN), are setting record highs.

These names are being heavily traded on the Robinhood platform.

When you have certain stocks plummeting in value because of the pandemic, while others are setting record highs due to Robinhood traders well, that’s what we call a High Volatility Market.

Fortunately, highly volatile markets can be very good for options traders.

Amazingly good.

Opportunities are better for option traders now than they have been for years.

Trading options in volatile markets can be really lucrative because the market moves so much. Options trades can make money when the market moves up or down.

Plus, when you are buying options, typically the more the market moves, the more money that can be made.

Stocks can drop 5%… you buy a call… it shoots up 5% the next day and your option explodes 100%.

The shareholders make 5%… you make 20X that!

Imagine doing that over and over again.

Here’s the secret (after trading options for 20 years).

Give your options trades a chance for success.

That means buying options on both sides of the market (bullish or bearish).

It also means having the patience to wait for those options to make money. Because there’s a decent chance both bullish and bearish bets will work out.

Your option may drop 30% today… many would panic and sell. Only to watch the option skyrocket 200% a few days later.

Know your stops before a trade.

Know when you plan to sell before a trade.

And most importantly…

Use proper risk management when trading. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Don’t spend too much on any particular trade.

Be willing to roll out (extend the time on) some trades. As long as you are savvy about it, this type of market can produce plenty of big winners.

SUMMARY: Volatility is at all-time highs… and is staying high. This means big swings in stocks could send your options to triple digit gains and beyond.

(We just closed a 225% winner on EGO in a couple weeks).
